The orgy of comic book movies continues and here comes Bendersmith Cumblebuns as Marvel’s Doctor Strange. Now, full disclosure, as the post title explains I know NOTHING about Doctor Strange. Let’s watch and then go over what I learned:
- He was a Doctor.
- He learns magic like Batman learned to fight.
- He learns it from bald Tilda Swinton.
- Tilda Swinton is the prettiest and ugliest woman at the same time.
- Tilda Swinton is proof that magic is real.
I think this movie will be a ton of fun because I LOVE magic super heroes. Constantine, Etrigan, Dr. Fate, even Moon Knight! There is something about the fact that magic trumps super powers that just thrills me.
Actually, now that I think about it, if Bruce Wayne was in Tibet anyway, and magic is something you can learn, like cooking or tying knots, then he really dropped the ball. Gadgets? Check. Super good fighter? Check. Can also turn you into a bird? CHECK! Take that, Superman.
So since my older brother loved DC and I didn’t have any money so I had to read his comics when I was a kid, I know more about DC than Marvel and that in this instance makes me happy. I am looking forward to seeing what’s up with Doctor Strange although it IS another one of those deals where if he was in NYC why doesn’t he help out when the city is being attacked by monsters? I guess we’ll find out!
