Do ya’ll remember that television series called Fantasy Island? It was a series that aired from 1977 to 1984. The premise of the series was a literal fantasy island where guests could come and live out their wildest dreams. But it came at a cost. There were three components to the fantasy: cost, nature, and risk. In each episode guests were plagued with these three elements in order to receive their fantasy. Fantasy Island was essentially a purgatory for sinners to act out their darkest wishes. Sounds cool, right?
Its was. It ran for several years, totaling about 152 episodes in all. Now you may be wondering why I am bringing up such an old television series now. Glad you asked. Looks like we are getting a re-imagined version of this in February 2020. It’s set to release on Valentine’s Day to be exact. Only this Fantasy Island is guaranteed to scare you – even worse than an old syndicated television series. With Sony Pictures releasing the feature film, Jason Blum is at the helm as producer with Blumhouse Productions.
The cast is pretty impressive – with one actress that really intrigues some of us here at Superficial Gallery. Charlotte McKinney. I am sure you can search the site and find plenty of Charlotte-centric material. Michael Pena is also starring as the main character, Mr. Roarke. Directed by Jeff Wadlow and written by Jeff, Chris Roach, and Jillian Jacobs, this “reboot” is sure to scare us all! Check out the trailer below and stay tuned for more updates as they come to light.
I am glad to see that Michael Pena has his own movie. I am DISGUSTED by the fact that, as far as I can tell, Charlotte is playing “girl at party”. In the beginning of the trailer, she is the gal on the left with the red bikini.
Man I need to make movies so I can put her in them. Gah!
Credited as Red Bikini Girl. LOL. Yeah I am glad to see Michael Pena in this as well – I think he’s going to make a fantastic Roarke.
