Damn wrestling was good in the late 90's.
This week we take a pure one-hit wonder and let you all bask in the glory that is the Otara Millionaires Club. You may know them as OMC, or you may say: “oh, you mean the song The Rock‘s cousin sang? I remember that song!” And remember it you will. Makes no goddamn sense, but you will remember it. I mean, I guess it does if you pay attention to the lyrics (which I didn’t) or watch the video closely (which I didn’t). But I like to think about it as being about three people (The Rock’s cousin, the girl and the dude in the back seat) driving around in an old car and sending people to Hell with their eyes.
So watch the video and read the lyrics after the jump, or just look at this picture and realize that these people were making moves and starting grooves before you knew they were gone.

Which One is O? I bet the dude in the back is O.
OMC – How Bizarre
Brother Pele’s in the back, sweet Zina’s in the front
Cruisin’ down the freeway in the hot, hot sun
Suddenly red-blue lights flash us from behind
Loud voice booming, “Please step out onto the line”
Pele preaches words of comfort, Zina just hides her eyes
Policeman taps his shades, “Is that a Chevy ’69?”
How bizarre
How bizarre, how bizarre
Destination unknown, as we pull in for some gas
Freshly pasted poster reveals a smile from the past
Elephants and acrobats, lions snakes monkey
Pele speaks “righteous,” Sister Zina says “funky”
How bizarre
How bizarre, how bizarre
Ooh, baby (Ooh, baby)
It’s making me crazy (It’s making me crazy)
Everytime I look around
Everytime I look around (Everytime I look around)
Everytime I look around
It’s in my face
Ring master steps out and says “the elephants left town”
People jump and jive, but the clowns have stuck around
TV news and camera, there’s choppers in the sky
Marines, police, reporters ask where, for and why
Pele yells, “We’re outta here,” Zina says, “Right on”
We’re making moves and starting grooves before they knew we were gone
Jumped into the Chevy and headed for big lights
Wanna know the rest? Hey, buy the rights…
How bizarre
How bizarre, how bizarre
Ooh, baby (Ooh, baby)
It’s making me crazy (It’s making me crazy)
Everytime I look around
Everytime I look around (Everytime I look around)
Everytime I look around
It’s in my face
You have outdone yourself Acadia…you are now Master of the now universe of awful music. My ears are bleeding in pain from this trash.
You are the reason waterboarding has yet to be made illegal…

I knew it was going to be the Kiwi song! It drove me mental at the time – it was a big hit in Australia. Now it just makes me laugh. For thise who don’t know New Zealanders are known for saying things like “choice ay bro”. They also say the number after five is sex!
I remember my son going around singing the chorus of this song until I thought my head would spontaneously combust. Good times. Thanks for bringing it all back.

Did he die, or did you kill him? Or both? Well, if you killed him, it would be both. I wonder if The Rock is sad.
