THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED
For the first time, we here at the Gallery have teamed up with someone and we picked well because we get to give away a DVD. That’s right. All you need to do is fill out the contest thing down there and you will be entered to win. The DVD itself is the entire first season of the TNT show “Rizzoli and Isles”. It has that gravelly voiced chick from “Law and Order” who is partnered with someone I don’t know and gravelly voice’s mom is played by the psychiatrist from “The Sopranos”
I just reread my description of the show and how realize why I am never hired to write the little things that tell you what a show is about in the channel guide. I’ll just let TNT talk and you can read my review and enter the contest after the jump. The drawing will be held this coming Friday (9/9) at about 10pm EST. I will need your real email in the comments if you want to win, and you will need to give me your name and address if you DO win. I’m not a wizard.
Based on characters created by best-selling crime novelist Tess Gerritsen, RIZZOLI & ISLES stars Angie Harmon as Jane Rizzoli, a tough-as-nails Boston police detective, and Sasha Alexander as Maura Isles, a smart, impeccably dressed medical examiner from a privileged background. Despite being complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemistry and strong working relationship that has helped them bust some of Boston’s most notorious criminals.
Lorraine Bracco stars as Jane’s demanding and intrusive mother, Angela. Lee Thompson Young is Detective Barry Frost, Jane’s somewhat green partner. Bruce McGill plays Detective Vince Korsak, Jane’s seasoned former partner who resents her being paired with Frost. And Jordan Bridges is Jane’s brother, Frankie Jr., a patrol cop who hopes one day to become a detective.
Jane and Maura will take on a number of intriguing cases this season, including a murder carried out during a Revolutionary War re-enactment, a killing in a professional baseball team’s locker room, a complicated case involving a surrogate mother and a case involving the Salem witch trials. Jane will also face the return of serial killer Charles Hoyt (Michael Massee Flash Forward), who takes a special joy in tormenting her.
Among the guest stars lined up for the second season of RIZZOLI & ISLES are Ernie Hudson (Oz, Ghostbusters) as Frost’s father, a Navy admiral; Matthew Del Negro (United States of Tara, Parenthood) as a mechanic who catches Maura’s eye; and Bill O’Reilly (The O’Reilly Factor) as a potential murder suspect.

I watched the show (they have some episodes online) and it’s a good cop show. It’s sort of the opposite of “Law and Order” in that they spend a lot of time with the story of the non-cop parts of the characters. I guess that’s not the opposite of “Law and Order”. The opposite would probably be “Crime and Anarchy”. Someone should make that show.
So based on my review if someone were going to give me a free copy of a whole season of this show, I would definitely go for it. I would even pay. And I might do that seeing as I can’t win my own contest. How lame is that? Enter after the jump so you can start watching. Note: If you don’t see the raffle thing please comment in the post and tell me. I’ll fix it.
Update! I know you have to scroll a million miles to get to the comment box. I can’t fix it so you will have to live with it. Look at it as part of the challenge!
Also, I need to tell you that I am not getting compensated in anyway for this post or the contest. TNT is providing the prize and I am doing the whole thing out of the goodness of my heart!
I have watched the show a few times and it is a good cop show. I keep missing it and have to play catch up and that kinda sucks really. I think its a chow that you can watch week to week and enjoy so being able to catch the whole first season in a marathon session would be cool. Besides, we know these cops dont hang at the donut shop, it helps they are easy on the eyes!
I hate cop shows, but I do have a gap in my DVD cabinet! Why don’t they have a cop show where the cops gather revenue by issuing parking tickets and harassing innocent motorists? That’d be more realistic. The cops around here are too busy when any trouble kicks off. They’d rather let the trouble happen and investigate it once it’s died down.
Actually, I haven’t, simply because of the lack of cable around here – but I had placed it on our library borrowing list (with a wait of like 6 months LOL) so it would be awesome to win it and see it a little bit sooner.
love it! watch it every week on tv.
The name of the show is making me hungry. Someone make me a Rizzoli!
I’ll watch it if you give me season one 🙂

I’m supposed to enter this or something. So I entered. If I win, I will sell it for a piece of fried chicken from KFC.
I’ve never seen the show, but the KFC sounds good. 3-piece, breast and wing, original recipe.

Never watched.
I haven’t seen it yet, but cop shows are up my alley so I’d definitely check it out.
I have seen a few episodes and REALLY liked it… I have been wanting to catch up… I hope I win 🙂
