This one is NSFW. It’s actually worse than that. It’s losing your lunch level of worse. So stop reading right now if you’re an animal lover. This is especially true if you’ve got a dog at home that you love and cherish. Go straight to the petition to stop the Dog Meat Festival. Last year they moved the festival up a week to hide from outsider eyes so the time is NOW!

You might have heard of Cecil the Lion or Cubby the Bear. (Maybe even yesterday when I was ranting about not having the proper words to write this article) I’ve got no problem with anyone that ties Troy Gentry up and kicks him repeatedly in the nuts for killing Cubby like he did. Preferably this should be done in a small electrified enclosure while he’s too tranqued to put up a fight. What rich pantywaists call hunting just isn’t right. What I’m bringing you today is so much worse.

On June 21st the Yulin Dog Meat Festival will begin. Now you might be able to argue that the Coon Dancing ad that has been playing in China isn’t racist because of cultural differences and blah blah politically correct blah. Personally I don’t buy any of that BS but you can argue about anything on the internet. Say one word about the annual dog slaughter fun in China being a cultural difference and I’m going straight to the little electric cage and the steel toed boots.

There are some things that are so heinous that you just can’t explain away with cultural differences. It’s like sure I’d have cultural differences with the puppy strangling Hitlerjugend at SS School. I’d have enough cultural differences to put a bullet between the little bastard’s eyes. I have the same kind of cultural differences with blowtorching a dog because a customer believes the meat becomes tender with greater suffering.

The Lychee and Dog Meat Festival, commonly referred to as Yulin Dog Meat Festival, is an annual celebration held in Yulin, Guangxi, China, during the summer solstice  in which festival goers eat dog meat and lychees. The festival spans about ten days during which it is estimated that 10,000–15,000 dogs are consumed. -wikipedia

I mean WTF that can’t be true? The internet makes up all sorts of stuff to shock people. It’s probably some 4Chan f*ckwit giggling in his parents basement. Only here’s a video reporting a fire that burned down a garage in Yongin, South Korea. One of the dogs being prepared for dinner escaped and ran though the adjoining building burning down a garage filled with expensive cars. I leaned over and threw up in the trash can when I first saw this video.

Warning Extremely Graphic. It’s a dog burning alive why would you click on it?

It gets worse. You didn’t think it could get worse did you. Unlike Korea China doesn’t actually have dog meat breeding farms. Not only are they eating dogs in China they’re eating stolen pets and strays. Organized gangs roam Beijing and other cities with poison darts looking for dogs. They even stole a blind man’s guide dog. The excuse? Well China has a relatively small number of guide dogs and the gangsters didn’t realize it wasn’t just a cherished companion animal. (They returned Qiaoqiao only when the Western media started to pickup the story)

Animals Asia published a four-year investigation into the dog meat industry in China. It’s not pretty. In some rural areas it’s impossible to find a dog because the predators have been so efficient. Farms need working dogs. Running battles between villagers and gangsters have erupted when gangsters with wire cable come for the dogs. If you put up a fight the rest of your animals and crops might be destroyed as an example. You’ll be sent to the hospital.

There’s a growing protest movement inside China about this. It’s not just some white monkey face (Yes I have been called that. It’s a long story) yapping about things that don’t concern him. If you can’t throw yourself in front of the truck full of dogs or try to buy it you can sign one of the online petitions like the one at Care2. If you live near Washington DC you could join the planned picketing of the Chinese Embassy on June 21. If you’re religious you could say a prayer for the darkened soul of humanity. It might not seem like a lot but the concept of shame is starting to get through in China. Dog meat sales dropped by a third from previous years and the torture show has been taken off the street.

“It used to be you could go to the festival and see dogs being killed right on the street” by restaurant owners. That’s not true anymore.” Duo Duo Animal Welfare Project.

Warning Graphic Content. It’s a small girl finding her stolen pet dog at the butcher. Why would you watch it?
