Well we have come a long way, it seems.

When we started, Vange and I coded the site in Dreamweaver by hand.  We didn’t even know there was such a thing as a template for months.  We just saved old pages as something new and changed the content.  And if we needed to use a table then we would spend all night on it.

That’s how Gallery Friday started.  We used to only do updates on Friday nights and it took all night.  Then we got a little faster and were able to make mid week updates.

And the people featured on the site are all people who posted on TheSuperficial.com forums.  They were a bunch of vain little monsters and the site is names Superficial Gallery because it was essentially an elaborate inside joke.  Well the joke’s on you because 10 years later I am still here with a domain name that is WAY TOO LONG!

See the old Gallery in all its glory!

I have run the site since 2005. And I have to say I am pretty damn proud of it. I wrote the book Whalewolf (sold on Smashwords.com) and am not even close to tired so I am just going to keep going. I was born in Portland, Maine and I currently live in New York and Charlotte, North Carolina. I keep hoping that at some point all these weird rebels are gonna say: "SURPRISE!" and act normal. Eight years and counting....
