Lovecraft Country is the latest horror series that will soon premiere on HBO. It is based on Matt Ruff’s novel of the same name (which is awesome, btw and you should read). Lovecraft Country executive producers include legendary names in the entertainment industry such as Jordan Peele, JJ Abrams, and Misha Green. And we will be covering it on Castle Rock Historical Society so bonus!

The first episode of Lovecraft Country will premiere on HBO Sunday, 16th August 2020.
Cast
Lovecraft Country stars Jonathan Majors as Atticus Freeman, a Korean War veteran. He has appeared in films such as Hostilities, Jungle Land, and White Boy Rick. Jurnee Smollet plays Letitia, Atticus’ best friend. Smollet is known for playing Black Canary in the DC Extended Universe. She on has also been featured on True Blood and Friday Night Lights.
Letita’s half-sister is played by renowned actor, Wunmi Mosaku who can be remembered for her role as DS Catherine in Luther and Ellis in The Practice.
The Plot
Lovecraft County is about Atticus Freeman, joined by his friend Letitia on a road trip in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth). They have to overcome terrifying monsters and the racist terrors of white America to succeed. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!
