Tell us about yourself:
I’m a horror author who writes about complicated heroines. My two short story collections have been traditionally published by a small press and my debut novel, also published by Inklings, is coming this March! I’m obsessed with Lizzie Borden, The X-Files, and the gothic work of Shirley Jackson. I’m a member of the Horror Writers Association and I contribute to Spider Mirror Journal.
Why do you dig horror?
Because it challenges how we see the world. It turns our reality upside down.
Tell us about some of your projects. Say as much as you want!
You can pre-order my female driven horror novel, Her Dark Inheritance, for 2.99 on Amazon right now!
How has being a woman in the industry helped / hurt you?
I’ve encountered many misogynists in my career, but I’d like to think being a woman in horror as helped me create characters who little girls can look up to. I’m thrilled to represent, in my small way, Women who love horror and crave representation.
Tell a woman who wants to get into horror something you wish someone had told you.
There are men who will question your ability and your commitment. Revel in proving them wrong.
